Focus and Scope

Asia-Pacific Studies (APS) is devoted to promoting understanding of the Asia-Pacific region. As one of the most dynamic regions in the world, the Asia Pacific is of interest to a vast array of scholars and practitioners from many fields.

The journal is a scholarly, interdisciplinary, internationally refereed publication focusing primarily on Asia, Australasia and the Pacific Rim regions of the Americas. The disciplines of interest encompass politics, religion, war and conflict resolution, history, economic development, health, man and the environment, anthropology, languages and literature, cultural heritage, sociology, social work, prehistory and archaeology, and the arts.

Asia-Pacific Studies (APS) seeks original manuscripts that presenting academic work on the studies of Asia-Pacific region. Original articles may use different theoretical and methodological approaches. Empirical and qualitative studies, methodological articles, review articles, brief reports, case studies and letters to the Editor will not be excluded.

Peer Review Process

After submission, each article is checked for plagiarism, and assessed to determine if it fits the aims and scope of the journal. Asia-Pacific Studies (APS) has a rigorous article review and editorial process to ensure the quality of each publication. All submission will go through the editorial process and our editors will decide whether the article is qualified for publication. Once your article is accepted, you will be notified of the acceptance by email.

This journal adopts double-blind review process for all submissions, which means that both the editorial board reviewer and author identities are concealed from each other. In this way, we hope to ensure the integrity and impartiality of the reviewers and the interests of the authors.


Publication Frequency

Asia-Pacific Studies (APS) has two volumes, six issues a year, the publication of online and print edition is scheduled in each February, April, June, August, October, and December. APS also provides immediate online publication once editing is done.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.



This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...


Author Fees

 Submission Fee: 0 USD   

 Pulication Fee: 239 USD per article

To cover the operating costs, such as the expenses of copy-editing, document preparation and typesetting, and publication costs, we charge authors certain publication fee. 

 Subscription Fee: 50 USD per copy

Subscription fees are required if authors intend to subscribe the journals with their published articles. DCThink does not offer sample journals (in print) for free to authors. If you want to order paper offprints after publication, please contact us at aps@dcthink.org, we will mail you the copies as soon as we receive the subscription fee.

Ÿ Color Printing Fee: 30 USD per graph

Additional charges are assessed for color graphics in the print version of the paper. If the accepted article includes pictures needed to be printed in color, authors are obliged to indicate in the cover letter in detail which figures or graphics should be printed in color in the published issue.

Ÿ Language Translation Fee:

All articles in APS is published in English, which means that all articles should be written in English. For authors who are non-English speakers and write manuscripts in their native languages such as French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and many more languages, we provide translation service from other languages into English. This service is not mandatory for authors who intend to submit paper to DCThink.

We don’t have a unified standard for language translation fee which mainly depends on the language to be translated and the word count.

 English Language Editing Fee:

We also offer English language editing service to ensure your manuscript is written in proper and accurate academic English free of grammatical or spelling errors. Specifically, our editors will:Ÿ  

  • Correct grammar, punctuation, and language mistakes
  • ŸRevise inaccurate expression and usage,
  • ŸImprove formatting
  • ŸImprove lucidity of your writing style.


Our professional editors will also offer you suggestions on strengthening the persuasiveness of your article from academic view.

We charge English language editing fee according to the length of the original article.

Corrections and Retractions

DCthink has article correction and retraction policy as a way to ensure the quality of its journals.

Article Withdrawal and Retractions:

Article can be withdrawn either by the author or the publisher before it is formally published, under the circumstance that it is found to violate the ethical publishing guidelines such as double publication and plagiarism. Under those circumstances, the article will be removed before it is published formally. We will retract the published article if the article is found to be based on falsified or plagiarized data, or any other problems with serious impact on the interpretation and integrity of the article.

Article Corrections:

The author can make revision of the theory or data in his/her published article, which is a rare situation, because we will make the correction announcement only if the editorial board and the author agree that the correction is indeed indispensible for proper interpretation of the significant part of the article. Correction of spelling or grammatical errors that do not affect the content of the article will not be published, however. The correction announcement will be published in the latest issue.
